Former NC State men’s basketball player Chucky Brown will serve as color analyst for all men’s basketball games on the Wolfpack Sports Network starting with the coming 2025-26 season.

Brown replaces Tony Haynes who had served as the men’s basketball analyst - and had a variety of other roles with the Wolfpack Sports Network since 1998. Haynes announced earlier this year that he would be retiring at the conclusion of the 2025 football season.

“I’m incredibly thankful for this opportunity,” Brown said. “It was an honor to represent NC State as a player, and I’m humbled to now have the chance to return to a program and university that mean so much to me. I’m excited to work alongside Matt Chazanow and the rest of the fantastic Wolfpack Sports Network crew as the men’s basketball program begins an exciting new era under Will Wade.”

Brown was a four-year letterman at NC State who played in 128 career games from 1985-89. In his four years with the Wolfpack, NC State went to the NCAA Tournament all four seasons and won the 1987 ACC Tournament Championship as well as finishing first in the 1989 ACC regular season.

Brown was the 43rd overall selection in the 1989 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers and played 13 years in the NBA. He won an NBA title in 1995 as a member of the Houston Rockets.
