Opening night of the 2025 season went well for the two ACC teams in action Thursday.
NC State held off a late charge from East Carolina to take a 24-17 win at Carter-Finley Stadium. Wolfpack QB CJ Bailey went 24-34 for 318 yards, and one touchdown.
Duke pulled away from Elon to earn a 45-17 win at home against the Phoenix. Debuting Duke Devils QB Darian Mensah had a near record debut, going 27-34 for 389 yards and three touchdowns.
