Duke QB Darian Mensah entered the transfer portal Friday, ending a one-year stint with the Blue Devils.
In a statement posted to social media Friday afternoon, Mensah said he was forever grateful to Duke and the coaching staff, adding it was not an easy decision to make, saying he consulted with family before entering the portal.
The deadline for players to enter the portal was January 16 at 11:59p ET.
Mensah set the single season record for passing at Duke in 2025, and earned Sun Bowl MVP honors, leading the team to an ACC Championship.
He had signed a two-year, $8M deal to come to Duke, transferring from Tulane. It is unclear how the contract would be terminated or completed.
